Bryanboy is the man of the fashion blogger world… even if he can be found wearing a dress and a $1,000 pair of stilettos from time-to-time. More recently he has been added as a judge for the prestigious CFDA awards. Bryan Boy has been featured in magazines like The New York Times, Teen Vogue, Vogue, WWD, and Portfolio. Hello aspirational… as in yes, do aspire to see the fashion world as he has one day.
Rumi Neely. Unique Name. Unique Look. Unique Eye. A fashion blogger known for her jam packed blog full of edgy style, and sophistication. This working model shares with the world her ability to pull off every outfit she puts on, and presents photographs that prove her passion for the fashion industry and eye for inspiration. This blog is different because Rumi presents a darker version of the world than many other bloggers.
Just came across this style-rich blog, which is very helpful since I am not as dedicated to styling as I am the business side of the industry (though I realize it is a big part regardless).
Tavi Gevinson, in case you are unfamiliar and live under a rock, is this 13 year old girl who apparently has found the way to express her fashion for passion. Because of this she has been given the opportunities that only a fashion rockstar would be approached with.
Blogger Tavi Gevinson created waves in the fashion industry in 2009 when she was noticed by the fashion designers of Rodarte. Since then, Tavi has been invited to top designer shows at fashion week, conducted countless interviews with top media, and was even hired to write for Harper’s Bazaar.
Her blog, Style Rookie presents the fashionable thoughts of a girl seemingly much older than the 14 year old Tavi actually is. She has an eclectic eye for inspiration, presentation, and innovation, and a quirky style and voice that is all her own. Some of the post topics on Style Rookie consist of topics like Runway, Retro Futurism, Grey Gardens, Nudity in Fashion Magazines, 60s Workplace Sexism.
I say this is phenom. I now look up to a 13 year old… or down rather, but in a good way.
This blog is a great example of a girl presenting a grand statement of her passion for fashion. By maintaining this blog, possible employers can read and see proof that she has a voice, mindset, and true passion that belongs in the fashion industry.
Blog Admin, Emma Louise Henson has used this blog to write about her journey from college student, to fashion intern at Stella McCartney, to senior about to graduate… Check it out!
Also- Take a look at the Stella McCartney Menswear project she is working on! Maybe you’ll be inspired to start a project like this yourself! It would be a great experience (& would look great in a portfolio).

I believe that my blog I Draw Fashion is such a resource. ( http://idrawfashion.com/ )
It’s a site full of “How to draw fashion sketches” tutorials and
helpful tips and techniques for fashion students, designers and illustrators.
It’s something that we have missed online for a long time and books & school didn’t cover.
Have a look at it
